I've been very into portraiture lately. I am also loving these little point-and-shoot cameras that I've been playing around with lately.

We actually do have red light bulbs in our living room. This is not a product of photoshop.

photobooth

I have a rather large collection of photobooth pictures hanging in a couple of frames on my wall. I realized lately that I need to keep the collection growing. I just can't believe that it is now $3 to do it now. Oh well. I'm still continuing my 35mm summer.

I'm falling back into love with film. For some reason it seems more appropriate to shoot with toy cameras and 35mm film in the summer. The celluloid itself adds its own little touch to each picture. The next couple of months are going to be fantastic. I can feel it.

Some of the pictures overlapped, but I think it was due to one part cheap camera and one part CVS screwing up the photo CD. I still enjoyed the results!

today is my birthday.

My friends took me to 90's night at Austin's favorite goth club, The Elysium, and surprised me with balloons and ice cream cake at midnight. They are the most amazing people I've ever met.

Too bad the club doesn't allow cameras inside. However, we did go swimming at 3a.m. in West Campus, and I brought my waterproof lomography camera. I'm getting those developed soon.

Who needs the rule of thirds, anyway?

I've got to get over worrying if I might break my camera and just carry it with me everywhere I go. I am constantly kicking myself lately because I see things that would make a good photo, but would have no means to capture it. After all, I did buy a nice warranty for the next four years.

Next week is my birthday. I will be turning 23 on April 9. Scary.

I'm trying to use my old flash with my new camera. The TTL feature doesn't work with my new 40D, but manual mode still works!

secret secret

SXSW 2008 is turning into a very fun time. However, it is not as cheap as last year as I tip people working the open bar for drinks, which is just the right thing to do.

Diplo was spinning at a secret house show last night, but I believe I had more fun talking to some people that I haven't seen in a long time. And also to other photographers about photography. It's nice to meet passionate people.
